This Privacy Policy describes how Xcup (“the App”) handles information when you use our application.

1. Overview

Xcup is a local, on-device analysis tool designed to analyze user-selected local video content or user-initiated online screen and audio content, and to enable interaction with a connected Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) device. The App is designed with privacy as a core principle and does not collect, store, or transmit personal data.

2. Data Collection

2.1 Personal Data

We do not collect any personal data.

Specifically, the App does not collect:

Names, email addresses, phone numbers
User accounts or identifiers
Location data
Contact information
Photos, videos, or media files

3. Local Processing Only

3.1 Video and Media Analysis

All local video analysis and motion inference performed by the App:

Uses locally stored video files selected by the user
Runs entirely on the device
Is processed in memory
Is never uploaded, stored, or shared externally

The App does not access local media content without explicit user action.

3.2 Online Mode (Screen and Audio Analysis)

When the user explicitly starts Online Mode, the App may access the currently shared screen content and the currently playing audio solely for real-time, on-device analysis.

Online Mode is activated only through explicit user action
Screen content and audio are analyzed locally on the device
No screen recordings, video frames, or audio data are uploaded to our servers
No screen content or audio content is shared with third parties
The App does not use Online Mode for advertising, tracking, or profiling

The App uses this functionality only to analyze motion and rhythm information in real time and to coordinate interaction with a connected Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) device.

3.3 Machine Learning (ML)

The App uses on-device machine learning technology exclusively for local inference.

All ML processing occurs locally on the user’s device
No video frames, images, audio content, or inference results are transmitted off-device
No third-party services receive any user data from the App

4. Bluetooth Connectivity

The App uses Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) solely to connect to a compatible external device.

Bluetooth communication is local-only
No Bluetooth data is transmitted to servers
No Bluetooth data is logged, stored, or shared

5. Network Communication

The App communicates with a server only for the following purpose:

Checking whether a new version of the App is available

This communication:

Does not include personal data
Does not include user-generated content
Does not include device identifiers
Is used solely to provide update availability information

6. Third-Party Services

The App does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

Although the App uses third-party libraries for on-device functionality, these libraries:

Operate entirely on-device
Do not collect or transmit data
Do not track users

7. Data Storage

The App does not store personal data.

Temporary data generated during analysis exists only in memory and is discarded immediately after use.

8. Children’s Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect data from children under the age of 13. Since no personal data is collected, there is no data retention related to minors.

9. User Control

Users retain full control over:

Which local files are analyzed
Whether Online Mode is started and stopped
Whether Bluetooth is enabled
Whether the App is used at all

The App does not perform background data collection.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
